If Wildgate is closing suddenly without showing a crash report or error message, you're not alone. While we’re still investigating the root cause, it may be related to security settings or conflicts with Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC).
Below are several steps that have helped some players resolve this issue. We recommend following them in order.
Step 1: Verify the Integrity of Game Files
- Open your Steam Library.
- Right-click on Wildgate and select Properties.
- Go to the Installed Files tab.
- Click Verify integrity of game files.
This will ensure no game files are missing or corrupted.
Step 2: Check Windows Security Settings
- Press the Windows key and type Windows Security, then open the app.
- Select App & browser control.
- Scroll down and click Exploit protection settings.
- Under the System settings tab, ensure the following:
| Setting | Value |
| Control flow guard | On (default) |
| Data Execution Prevention | On (default) |
| Force randomization for images | Off (default) |
| Randomize memory allocations | On (default) |
| High-entropy ASLR | On (default) |
| Validate exception chains | On (default) |
| Validate heap integrity | On (default) |
- Return to the main Windows Security screen.
- Select Device security > Core isolation details.
- Make sure Memory integrity is On.
Step 3: Verify Windows Service Driver Integrity
- Press the Windows key and type Command Prompt.
- Right-click the Command Prompt result and select Run as Administrator.
- In the window that opens, type sfc /scannow and press Enter:
This will scan for and attempt to fix corrupted system files.
Step 4: Check Your Antivirus Software
Some antivirus programs may interfere with Wildgate or Easy Anti-Cheat. We recommend:
- Ensuring your antivirus software is fully updated.
- If the issue persists, try temporarily disabling your antivirus and launching the game again.
- If Wildgate runs successfully with the antivirus off, consider adding an exception for Wildgate and Easy Anti-Cheat.
Always re-enable your antivirus software after testing.
Step 5: Install the Latest Windows Updates
- Press the Windows key and type Check for updates.
- Select Check for updates.
- If any updates are found, click Download & Install.
