How does combat work?
Combat in Wildgate is a mix between individual battles between prospectors and battles between spaceships. There are no specific rules or directions for combat, you can play however you want.
How do I heal my prospector?
You heal automatically when you stop taking damage or refill your oxygen. You can also be healed by the weapon called “The Doctor” and its healing beam.
How do I repair my ship?
If your ship has taken damage, you will see a repair indicator. You repair your ship by using the multitool. To refill overall ship health, use ice on the reactor.
What are known hazards in the Reach?
Lava asteroids: Asteroids made of lava. Equip a fire barrier to protect your ship.
Cosmic storms: High intensity storms that cause damage to ships. Equipping a storm shield will protect your ship.
Reach leeches: Enjoy eating the fuel from your ship. Kill them to get a refund before your enemies do!
Asteroids: Large chunks of rock floating in space.
Rogue turrets: Stationary turrets floating in space that shoot nearby ships and deal damage. Can be destroyed with weapons or turrets.
How do I install hardpoints or cannons?
Pick up the hardpoint device or cannon. Once you are on your ship, there are indicators that show where each can be installed. Walk up and interact to install. Both can be replaced by other devices if you find you want to switch them out. They can also be stolen by enemy players - so be aware of your ship at all times!
How do I interact with buttons, doors, and items?
The default for each platform are as follows:
- Mouse & Keyboard - Press F
- PlayStation Controller - Press Square
- Xbox Controller - Press X
Where do I store extra or unused items?
You can store them anywhere on the ship! You can drop items at any time. Spark joy with your arrangements.
How do I collect resources?
Fuel: Harvest fuel from fuel asteroids found in the Reach using your multitool.
Ice: Harvest ice from ice asteroids found in the Reach using your multitool.
Ammo: Find ammo in POIs. Destroyed enemy ships drop some resources for you to loot. You can also collect fuel from Reach leeches who have fed on your ship.
What is the purpose of fuel and ice?
Fuel is used when you Boost your ship from the helm controls. Ice recovers ship health if you have taken damage.
